Things to do at the weekend

If sport is your thing there are a host of choices; soccer, Gaelic football, tennis and pitch and putt to name a few. There's something for everyone in the family locally.

If you love a bit of drama then it doesn't have to be restricted to the screen. Prosperous Dramatic Society has been active for over one hundred years. You might like to get involved or simply enjoy the performances!

Perhaps you prefer the quiet life. Just North of the town rests beautiful church ruins worth a view in every season. The local canal is a popular walking route too, or if you enjoy fishing you can find a solitary spot and try your luck. You are surrounded by stunning Kildare countryside at Farnan Wood.
